Amber Coast Logistics met in Warsaw

7 – 9 November 2012 CASE Belarus organized the third Steering Committee Meeting of Amber Coast Logistics members in Warsaw, Poland. The internal project meeting was attended by almost all project partners.

ACL in Warsaw, 2012For three days the transport and logistics experts from Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, Denmark and Germany discussed their intermediate results as well as next steps and upcoming studies. All partners made good progress in the last months of cooperation: Within work package 3 the EU transport rules were analysed, different dimensions (physical, political, commercial, technological and organizational) of accessibility were examined and indices for transport complexity were developed. Project partners participating in work package 4 have, amongst others, concluded a study on “the role of port development and cooperation in a strategic perspective”. The study “Traffic forecast for seabound container traffic between Western and Eastern European ports including hinterland” that is conducted by the German research institute ISL (Institut für Seeverkehrswirtschaft und Logistik) is practically finished. Within work package 5 a transport border EDI (electronic data interchange) package will be developed. The respective project partner has nearly finished the analyses of the status quo that is the basis for further development. Furthermore partners are currently analysing the business sectors view on “managing towards increased accessibility”.

The next ACL meeting will be the mid-term conference in Copenhagen from April 22 – 23, 2013. This event will be open to the public.
