In 2014 CASE Belarus has successfully accomplished a research project focused on the disparities in regional development in Belarus. Researchers have proven the existence of the stagnating areas located between Belarusian capital and regional centres and proposed the recommendations how to solve ‘poverty belt’ problem.

Socio-economic development of Belarusian regions (2012)
The collaborative project of CASE Belarus and Scientific-Research Institute at the Ministry of Economy of Belarus called “Social and economic development of regions in the context of national competitiveness’ increase” was successfully finished in July 2012. The project was administrated by the Eurasia Foundation and financed by the USAID.
City size distribution dynamics (2009-2010)
The project titled „City Size Distribution Dynamics in Transition Economies. A Cross-Country Investigation“ sponsored by CERGE-EI Foundation, Prague was operated by CASE Belarus in 2009-2010. The study was a joint research paper by C. Necula (Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, Romania), M.Ibragimov (Tashkent State University of Economics, Uzbekistan) and U.Valetka (CASE Belarus).
